Christopher Cross was right

We chartered a boat to sail around the Dalmatian islands in Croatia for a week with the Andeo’s amazing crew: Captain Niksa, Chef V, and deckhand Tommy, (Niksa’s brother). This was probably the coolest thing we have ever done, or ever will do.

Our days: Wake at 8(ish); have awesome breakfast; sail off to explore a new island, each one different and more awesome than the last (we climbed the second longest wall in the world, watched dolphins chase our boat, visited the home of Marco Polo, and stormed ancient fortresses); return to boat for world class dinner; watch somewhat inappropriate movie with family (Die Hard, Best in Show, etc.); fall asleep to the sounds of the Adriatic sea; wake and repeat.

That description doesn’t do the journey justice, so I’ll leave it to the master.

Well, it’s not far down to paradise, at least it’s not for me.

And if the wind is right you can sail away and find tranquility

Oh, the canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see

Believe me

It’s not far to never-never land, no reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy of innocence again
Oh, the canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see
Believe me

Sailing takes me away to where I’ve always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me
And soon I will be free

PS We will definitely be doing this again some day.  Hopefully you will join us?
